Q-Hello guys! Today our guest on air is Carlotta Rubaltelli from Styleandtrouble.com! Welcome to Carlotta, a young fashion blogger, please tell us how old you are and where you are from.
A-Hello everyone! I’m 21, I come from Parma and I’m studying Economics.
Q-You seem to be serious-minded! When and how was your blog born?
A-Thank you! Style and Trouble was born in january 2012, the idea popped into my mind in a week, I just had to look for a name and then the website and my first post were soon online.
Q-What or who do you draw inspiration from?
A-I needed a space on the net in order to talk about what I want, not only about fashion; I founded inspiration by surfing the net and looking other girls’ blogs. My biggest fear was about getting bored and quitting it 2 months later. So I took courage, made a self-examination (Carlotta, how much time and effort do you want to invest in it?), and made up my mind. Ok, let’s do it!
Q-Well done, Carlotta, you pursue aims, and have project you are carrying out in a very smart way. What can we find on your blog? -topics, columns, etc.
A-First of all you can find outfits, I try to post 4-5 entries per week, and the main feature of ST is to re-use the clothes we already have, for instance the same jeans in different occasions because, even due to the economic crisis nowadays, we can’t always buy new stuff every time we want, so my secret is to mix the things we have in different ways. People often ask me suggestions about what to wear in different occasions with the same guests, how to avoid wearing always the same clothes!

Q-I’ll tell you again, you’re such a thoughtful girl! First of all when you think about clothing matters. I’ve also seen some kitchen posts, tell us about them, please.
A-I started up this column about a month ago helped by my sister Eleonora, it’s called “Kitchen trouble” and of course it’s not the main feature of my blog; we post an entry per week, usually on Sunday, it is about easy and fast recipes, for example our strongest point is “la torta di mandorle in fretta” (almond cake when you are in a hurry!) and I’m glad to share it with you: 2 eggs, 200gr flour, 200gr sugar, 200 gr butter, 200 gr almonds, a Brandy (liquor) shot, 1 teaspoon baking powder, shred lemon peel, mix everything together (first of all sugar and eggs and then all the other ingredients) and bake in preheat 180° oven for about 30 minutes.
Q-Does this effort with the blog give you any contacts or professional partnerships with companies involved in fashion?
A-Yes, it does. Thanks to my blog I became an editor for bigodino.it, I take part to fashion events (YSL in Milan, Pinko in my hometown) and get professional partnerships with companies like Sebastian, Cruciani, Audi, Rimmel London,Aveda and Cosmoprof; I’ve been invited by a couple of spas in Northern Italy. I can definitely say this is the funniest and most playful part of my “job”.

Q-So we can say this is the positive feedback of a project that started on the game but is going on due to your perseverance. But now we have the last question for you…Can you mention a collegue you like and an other one you dislike, please?
A-Yes, I can mention Filippo Fiora, blogger for thethreef.com: I know him, he’s a nice guy who deals with men’s fashion and often offers ideas when men ask me advice and I draw on his blog.

Q-Well thank you so much Carlotta for keeping us company and answering to our questions! Good luck for you blog!

Thanks to Radio Lab Catania for the Interview and thanks to Ornella Laviano for the translation!
